Eligibility: Open to Maine residents 19 years of age and younger
The entire production must be the work of the person or persons entering the competition. For group productions, choose the category matching the oldest authoring member of the group. There is no age limit for actors, documentary subjects, or musicians who may appear in the production. Whenever possible, we urge students to use original music, copyright free music, or music they have obtained permission to use. The MSFVF is an educational event and we encourage teachers, artists, and advisors to work with their students. However, the actual video production
and editorial decisions must be made by the students.

All Moviemakers should provide in the space below a capsule statement indicating the equipment available to you, teachers, supervisors, or assisting groups who contributed to the making of your movie, and if applicable, the name or nature of the event documented. Please note any unusual working conditions, plans, or procedures.
Submit one entry form for each work entered.
Label all reels, containers, film leaders, videotape cassettes, and cases with the
TITLE, ENTRANT'S NAME, and RUNNING TIME.
There is no entry fee.
Submitted movies are reviewed by three judges: an educator, a media arts professional, and a past MSFVF winner. Winners & finalists receive a certificate of merit. Prizes vary year to year .
Grand prize winner, selected from the Senior Division receives a scholarship to cover tuition, room, and board, worth $1,995 for the 2 week “Young Filmmakers” Program at International Film & Television Workshops in Association with Rockport College, Rockport, Maine and must be used one of the following sessions in 2003: June 22 - July 5,
July 6 - July 19, July 20 – August 2, August 3 - Aug 16.
1. Anyone 19 years old or younger who is a resident of Maine in high school is eligible.
2. There are three categories in which you may enter as many works as you would like:
Pre-teen ~ grades K – 5, Junior ~ grades 6 – 8, Senior ~ grades 9 -12.
3. As a rule, judges award winners and honorable mentions in each category. The
judges have final say in giving awards and they may expand or delete the number
of awards in any given year.
4. All works will be handled with care and will be returned at the Festival showing. If
not picked up, the entries will not be returned unless entrant arranges to pick up their submission. MAMA and the cooperating organizations cannot be responsible for loss or damage.
5. MAMA shall have the right to make and use duplicate and enlarged prints and
videotapes of entered films and videotapes for publicity and promotion.
6. The judges decisions are final.
